    Two cleaners, one guarantee

Whether it is a photo or a four-minute clip, the rule is the same: remove everything that identifies you, and change nothing you can see or hear.

    New

Clean videos with the same privacy protection.

A video says more about you than a photo does. Alongside the usual tags, a clip from a phone or an action camera can carry a timed GPS track that logs where you were, second by second, for the whole recording. Most metadata tools never even look at it.

MediaPure removes the tags, the location atoms, the telemetry track, the device handler names and the header timestamps — then copies your compressed video and audio across untouched and checksums both files to prove it.

    No re-encoding
Streams are copied, never decoded. Same resolution, frame rate, bitrate and audio.
    Telemetry removed
GoPro GPMF, Apple mebx, Google CAMM and Sony RTMD tracks are dropped, not copied.
    Every container
MP4, MOV, M4V, WebM, MKV and AVI, identified by their bytes rather than their extension.
    Verified output
Each stream is checksummed before and after. A mismatch returns an error, never a file.

Your file carries a second layer you never see

Phones, cameras, editors and AI tools quietly write information into every file. Anyone who downloads it can read that information in seconds.

    Three steps, about ten seconds

    See how cleaning works
    1. Step 1

      Add your file

Drop up to 20 images, or one video. Nothing to install and no account.

    2. Step 2

      We scan and clean

Every metadata block is identified and removed. Then we compare both versions, pixel by pixel or stream by stream.

    3. Step 3

      Download clean files

Save each file or grab a ZIP. Links expire and files are deleted after 10 minutes.

Most cleaners re-save your file. We don't.

The easy way to strip metadata is to open the file and save a new copy. For a JPEG that means another round of compression: softer edges, shifted colours, lost detail. For a video it means decoding and re-encoding every frame: slower, and visibly worse.

We take the file apart at the container level, drop the metadata blocks and copy the compressed data through untouched. Then we check the result — every pixel for an image, every packet for a video. If anything differs, you get an error, never a damaged file.

    What gets removed

    All features

    Location

GPS coordinates in photos, location atoms in video, and telemetry tracks that log a whole journey.

    Device details

Camera and phone model, lens, serial numbers, vendor codes and media handler names.

    AI generation data

Prompts, negative prompts, seeds, samplers, model names and ComfyUI workflows.

    Content Credentials

Signed C2PA manifests naming the service, agent and exact time of creation.

    Names & ownership

Artist, author, creator, copyright and licence-holder fields from XMP, IPTC and container tags.

    Timestamps

Capture, edit and export dates, including the video header times most tools never touch.

    Captions & history

Descriptions, keywords, comments, chapter names and editor history logs.

    Hidden extras

Embedded thumbnails, depth maps, vendor blocks and data smuggled after the file ends.

Built for anyone who publishes media

Send client files without your tool stack, licence name or prompt recipes attached.

    Developers

Ship screenshots and screen recordings free of machine names and file paths.

    Marketers

Publish campaign visuals and AI concepts without internal notes or timestamps.

    Photographers & filmmakers

Share previews and rushes without GPS, serial numbers or the shoot location.

    Businesses

Clean press kits, product videos and listings before they leave the company.

    Social media users

Post from anywhere without your coordinates riding along in the file.

A privacy tool that practises privacy

It would make no sense to protect your media by collecting it. So we built the service to keep as little as possible, for as short a time as possible.

    Read our security model
    Originals are not kept
Images are processed in memory and never written to disk. A video is streamed to a private file and deleted the moment cleaning ends, either way.
    Deleted automatically
Cleaned files expire after 10 minutes. Delete them yourself the moment you've downloaded.
    Validated before processing
Files are checked by content, not name. Fake media and oversized 'bombs' are rejected.
    No metadata logging
What we find in your file goes to your browser only. We keep anonymous counts, nothing else.

    Questions people ask first

Straight answers, including what this tool can't do.

    Read all FAQs
    Which formats are supported?

Images: JPG/JPEG, PNG (including animated PNG) and WebP (lossy, lossless and animated), up to 25 MB each, 20 at a time. Video: MP4, MOV, M4V, WebM, MKV and AVI, up to 500 MB, one at a time so each clip gets the whole machine.

    Is it really free?

Yes. Image and video metadata cleaning is free to use, with fair-use limits to prevent automated abuse: 30 images per minute and 500 per day from one connection, and 6 videos per minute and 60 per day.

    Do I need an account?

No. You can use the image and video cleaners without creating an account or signing in.

Will removing metadata reduce image quality?

No. We never re-encode your image. The engine rewrites the file container and drops only metadata blocks, while the compressed image data is copied byte for byte. Before a file is offered for download, we decode both versions and compare every pixel. If a single pixel differed, you would get an error instead of a file.

    Does it remove GPS location?

Yes. On photos we remove GPS coordinates stored in EXIF and related location fields. On videos we also remove location atoms and timed GPS or telemetry tracks when present. Removing metadata cannot erase a location that is visibly shown in the image or video itself.

    Does it remove C2PA / AI-generated labels?

We remove embedded C2PA Content Credentials manifests and readable AI-generation metadata such as prompts, model names and source-type tags. We do not change pixels or frames, so invisible watermarks embedded in the media remain. Follow any disclosure rules that apply to your work.

Does it work on video too?

Yes. The video metadata remover supports MP4, MOV, M4V, WebM, MKV and AVI. It removes metadata and GPS telemetry without re-encoding the video or audio streams.
